Nationwide Piano Delivery
When you buy from Pianos of Princeton, we deliver your piano across the country and coordinate every step of the move. The delivery runs from our showroom in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, to the room you choose, and a single piano specialist manages it from start to finish. Once you place an order online, that specialist contacts you within 24 hours to schedule your delivery and confirm the details of your home.
Free White-Glove Delivery in Our Local Zone
Eligible Yamaha Clavinova, Yamaha AvantGrand, and Roland digital pianos ship with free white-glove delivery inside our delivery zone. White-glove service covers in-home placement, full assembly, and removal of all packaging. We also remove an existing upright or baby grand from your first floor at no additional charge.
Free white-glove delivery covers:
- All of New Jersey
- New York City, all five boroughs
- Rockland and Westchester Counties, New York
- Northampton, Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and Delaware Counties, Pennsylvania
The first two flights of stairs are included when you disclose them at the time of order. Second-floor delivery must be noted during checkout so the crew arrives prepared.

Delivery Beyond Our Local Zone
For destinations outside the white-glove zone, we arrange the full move ourselves. Our New Jersey piano movers collect your instrument and bring it to our warehouse, and we manage the long-haul shipment from there to your address. You work with one company from purchase to placement, not a list of carriers to chase down. Before the long haul, the piano is inspected, including a check of the plate, to confirm it is intact and ready to play.
Long-distance instruments travel by LTL (less than truckload) freight when white-glove service is not available at the destination. LTL delivery is curbside to any location a tractor-trailer can reach. You receive tracking information, and the carrier schedules your delivery window in advance. We provide a delivery quote for every out-of-zone move before anything ships.
We cannot deliver to locations accessible only by ferry.
Your Piano Is Insured the Entire Way

What We Need to Schedule Your Delivery
Have this ready when you contact us so we can quote and book accurately:
- The make and model of the piano, or its height for an upright and its depth for a grand
- Pickup and delivery addresses, and whether each is a house or an apartment
- Inside stairs: how many flights and the type of stairwell
- Outside stairs: how many, plus any turns or landings
- Access obstacles: steep hills, long driveways with low branches, or limited-access locations
If your building requires a Certificate of Insurance, provide it at least 72 hours before delivery. Upgraded delivery services and special access requirements may carry additional charges.
Questions we hear often
-
Do you deliver pianos outside New Jersey?
Yes. We deliver across the country. Inside our local zone, eligible digital pianos qualify for free white-glove service. Beyond it, we arrange the full move and ship by insured LTL freight, with a quote provided before your piano leaves the showroom. -
Is delivery really free?
Free white-glove delivery applies to eligible Yamaha Clavinova, Yamaha AvantGrand, and Roland digital pianos within our delivery zone. For destinations outside that zone, we provide a delivery quote based on your location and access. -
How will my piano be protected during a long-distance move?
Every shipment is fully insured. Long-distance pianos travel by professional freight carrier, and your instrument is inspected before the long haul to confirm it is ready to play. You receive tracking and a scheduled delivery window. -
What happens after the piano arrives?
For digital instruments, our white-glove crew places and assembles the piano and removes the packaging. Acoustic pianos arrive tuned to A-440. Give the piano two to four weeks to acclimate, then schedule its first tuning. -
What do I do if my piano arrives damaged?
Photograph the damage, note it on the bill of lading, and have the driver sign before leaving. Contact us right away, and we will handle the claim.
