The Yamaha C7X grand piano is the top model in the CX Series. At 7’6″, it comes very close to a concert grand, and it sings with a voice of refined grace that suits concert halls, recording studios and large living spaces.
Yamaha redesigned the CX Series with many of the innovations of its flagship CFX. The soundboard is made from spruce selected at the Kitami Mill in Hokkaido, and it is glued to the ribs and bridge using the same techniques developed for the CFX. Four spruce back posts and a thickened back frame give the sound a strong foundation. The hammers use the same felt as the CFX for a rich, expressive tone.
Every C7X is built and then voiced and regulated in Kakegawa, Japan. It has a V-Pro frame from Yamaha’s Iwata Forge, a Tone Collector, a two-piece separated bridge, Ivorite white keys on seasoned spruce keys, a soft-close fallboard, a lid lock and double-wheeled solid brass casters. Pedals are damper, sostenuto and shift.
