The Bench Yamaha Pairs With the CFX
Yamaha lists the No.500 as an accessory for the CFX, its flagship nine-foot concert grand. That is the standard the bench is built to, and it is why it holds up under the kind of playing that wears an ordinary bench out.
Height Set to the Millimeter
Travel runs from 406mm to 560mm (15.9″ to 22.0″), a full 154mm (6.0″), and the mechanism is continuous rather than notched. The seat lands within 1mm of the height you want. Wrists level with the keys, forearms parallel to the floor: that is the position every good lesson starts from, and this is the bench that lets you actually reach it.
Adjusts Under Your Own Weight
The mechanism releases at 45kg of downforce, so raising or lowering the seat is a matter of sitting and shifting, not stopping to work a crank. In a household where a child, a parent, and a visiting teacher all use the same instrument, the bench keeps up.
Mass That Stays Put
660mm (25.9″) across, 360mm deep with a 372mm seat, 12.0kg (26.4 lbs). That mass is what keeps the bench planted through long practice and heavy playing instead of walking away from the keyboard.
Sit On One Before You Decide
Freehold Music Center has been fitting players to instruments since 1951, and bench height is the first thing we check. Come in, set one to your height, and play.
