SH3 is the SILENT system Yamaha fits to its full-size uprights and grands, installed at the factory rather than added afterwards. Switch it on and a stop rail catches the hammers just short of the strings, so the action moves exactly as it does acoustically while the strings stay quiet, and your playing goes to headphones through binaural samples of the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial concert grands.
Because the sensors never touch the action, the touch and the half-pedalling carry through unchanged. It is the same piano at two in the morning as it is at midday.
On the floor with SH3 fitted: the 48-inch U1 and 52-inch U3, the YUS1, YUS3 and YUS5, the GC1 and GC2 baby grands, and the CX grands from the 5’3″ C1X up to the 7’6″ C7X. Every new piano includes a bench, and every acoustic piano leaves the store tuned to A-440. Call (732) 462-4730 or send us a message.
